If you have a dining room that will accommodate a square table, I think it is a great idea. My aunt had an antique table that seated 3 per side!

This is the description from the website: DRM-42-B The table above is unusual in that it extends the oposite direction of most tables! the table is 40 inches long x 60 inches wide without the extension leaf. When the 20 inch leaf is used, the table becomes 60 inches square and can seat 8. The base is painted with heavy turned legs. (any color to meet your needs is available. The top is shown in solid cherry. The matching chairs are sold seperately and are available in both arm and side. The chair seats are hand scoopes in solid cherry. (CS-42B) All items are shown with a distressed and weathered finish.

Yes! I'm thinking of a table that's like two square (2x2) dining tables together (2x4) or maybe 2x3.

No luck. We ended up hiring a carpenter to build it.
