Maybe it's my monitor but all the choices seem really orange to me and I wouldn't pick a floor with orange for a contemporary style. If i had to choose based only on appearance it would be the Afzelia Solid. Although severe reactions are quite uncommon, Afzelia has been reported to cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation, as well as sneezing. Do some due diligence, know what your actually purchasing.

Candace that is good advice. Contemporary style often uses Rift Sawn White Oak for flooring or even Bamboo now because of its straight grain and light color. The only issue then is of course the bamboo making you sick because it comes from China. A nice white oak floor will start at around $4 plus installation of around $3.50. Then you have a floor that is site finished (best kind) and its not going to out gas fumes into your family rooms. joel@eutree.com

Narrower planks are contemporary, the wider ones are more traditional. I would stay with a two inch wide, either white oak, quarter sawn, or maple will give you a good look as well. And these two will be within your budget
