Furniture arrangement

We just began an exciting project. Remodeling this old home! :) yay! I'm thrilled .
But I'm not exactly sure where to place my furniture. I can't afford to replace my furniture at this time.
1. I need a living area
2. I need a dinning area
3. I homeschool 4 girls so I need a school room

We knocked down a huge wall that divided our house. We got an open space concept going here.

Total sq for this area is about 800.

Dilemma: looking for suggestions where school room should be. Beyond living room towards the back or next to living room to the right.
Looking for direction on where to place the Dinning room and school room.

WHat is that room where you currently have the dining table? Could that be your school space? I would also move your living area over by your fireplace and have your couch face the fireplace. Then, you can use the area that currently has the couch as your dining room, since it is in such close proximity to the kitchen.

Hi---well that's a nice big space. I say to have fun and treat it all as if it were one BIG room.
Here are some suggestions: add a door to the laundry area.
Make desks from file cabinets and ready made laminate countertops---super easy and inexpensive. Paint the walls (at least 2) (maybe even one in the living room) with magnetic paint AND chalkboard paint-think-double duty!
Add plenty of shelves (above desks would be ideal).
So many different floors---solution---a mix of fun colorful rugs. Something needs to absorb the sound. :)
As for what gets zoned where---LR in area of fireplace---DR off of LR right of Kitchen, and schooling area -gold floor. With this particular layout, you could add fabric panels to divide the living/dining areas from the kitchen/school zone.
