Heat Pump not cooling

I have a Amana Heat Pump (approx. 10 years old) for the second floor in our house. It is finally Spring and so we flipped our unit from Heat to Air for the first time. It was blowing air through all the vents, but it was not cooling and temperature gradually went up to between 80-81 degrees.

So I called our HVAC tech that we have worked with for years. He came out and said that the unit was very low on freon, so added he good amount (about $250 for freon and service call). He said that should fix the issue for now, but that if it truly is a leak that the coil would have to be replaced long-term, but said let's monitor the amount of pressure and freon used for now. Before he left, he did go and check each vent to check for consistency in air coming through and the temp coming through after adding freon. All that checked out well.

It was near night time and he completed, so between the cooler temps outside and freon added the house temp did drop very nicely. However, now a day or so later I see the unit is running a lot again, yet the temp hovers between 75-76, yet we set it on 72. Outside temp is around 80.

Is this normal, should I just give freon and heat pump a chance? Or, do I need to call tech back out to inspect something else? If so, what should I ask him to look for? Any new thoughts for potential problems?
