afghan

I used to have a pattern out of an older magazine, of which I cannot remember the name. This afghan had about six rows of double crochet for the top and bottom borders. Then you would dc about seven stitches at the beginning and end of each row, after starting with the seven stitches you would start counting and on the ninth stitch you would drop and slip stitch on the previous row, then dc eight more and drop on each ninth stitch until the end of the row. On the next row after the initial seven stitches you would count to seven and drop the eighth stitch but every ninth stitch after that. This is so you could stagger the dropped stitches. You would also do each row in a different color to accent the dropped stitch. I know that I am looking for a needle in a haystack but these forums have found every other pattern I have needed. If you can help please let me know. Thanks, Rose
