Funny you should post this today. I was just cursing myself for choosing the color floors I did. I have medium colored cedar flooring and it shows every piece of dust when the morning sun hits it. Ack! If I could go back I would have gone a few shades lighter and saved myself alot of time. :) White baseboards and moldings always look crisp against a wood floor. Consider a few shades lighter. Just an opinion. Good luck!

My suggestion is to put some stain on the floor and see how it looks in the room. You may even want to put down 2 or 3 different shades to see how they look against the wood. Sample cards will give you an idea, but nothing beats seeing the product in the actual setting.

Just remember to do your test patch in the middle of the floor, not at the side. Whatever you don't like will just sand off, but if you put it at the edge, you have to use the edger and hand sand to remove it. If you really like the natural, consider not having the floor stained at all. Not using stain tends to minimize the flaws and sander marks in an older floor.
