My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
I've knitted several Aran Afghans and all you need to make them is a knitting book that contains Aran stitches...cables, etc. Then create your own from blocks of different stitches....I've also made them in long strips...top to bottom so that I didn't have to drag the whole thing around...only the one strip I was working on...when all the strips are done, sew them together...or, you can make sideways strips, OR blocks. It's fun to choose your OWN patterns and create your OWN look
I really like making my own patterns, etc, instead of using someone else's...it's a great way, too, to preview different stitches...those you like, you can repeat, those you don't can be single blocks...the whole thing can be a 'sampler' of Aran stitches/cables/bobbles, etc.
