I do not think 4 ply would work. Too fat. Maybe baby yarn or a very thin sport, but your gauge will need to be adjusted. Why not order enough Cro-sheen online?

Mary, you can use any yarn you like as long as the gauge is the same. I wish all patterns just said sport weight or worsted weight instead of listing a specific brand! :)

I agree Donna. I have pattern books from eons ago when I was in college and teaching. They all call for a brand's style of yarn and do not name the thickness of the yarn. Grrrr.

Mary, I was using some KnitCroSheen today and checked the size of the thread. It is bedspread or size 10 crochet thread. You could substitute any size 10 thread, though the KnitCroSheen is on the thicker side of some of the size 10s I have seen. Some off brands are definitely thinner. Of course, checking your gauge will take care of any concerns.
