Need help with a stitch direction

Hi..What does this mean??? Knitting a sweater, the directions are SL1, K2tog, Psso,YF,K1, P1. What I don't understand is the YF. I know it means yarn forward, but can't figure out what they mean, especially when the next stitch is a knit. Thank you for any help with this. Dottie

That is just another way of saying YO or yarn over.

After you do the PSSO, bring your yarn from the back to the front by going BETWEEN the tips of your needles; then take it to the back again by going OVER the right hand needle - yo made. The yarn will be in the correct position to knit the next stitch.
