I have a U shaped kitchen, and ultra vien-y J. Capella granite.

On one side, they ran a single slab around the corner, placed the seam a couple feet away, in the sink area. A lot of folks consider a sink seam a major no-no, but in my case it looks great, no one can even spot the seam unless I show it to them.

In the other corner, the seam is about 6 inches back, and also very well matched, so the dark areas line up well.

What it comes down to is the skill and artistry of the slab cutter. Mine was a real master, even though he looked to be under 30.

We have a U-shape to our kitchen now and also chose a very horizontally-moving granite. We had two seams but our fabricator was careful in trying to minimize any glaring seam width. I think he did a good job of it--I'll try to post pictures.

Here's a pic of mine from awhile ago. The sink which is just to the left is omitted - obviously. Our seam is in the middle of the sink and absolutely no issues.

I'm so happy to see this thread. My kitchen is "L" shaped and my concern is the corner and the pattern getting screwy. It's good to see such nice work above and this with veiny granites. I intentionally picked a granite with a tight pattern so I wouldn't have a problem. The fabricator already knows I want to be there when they lay out the template before the stone is cut.
