mexican detergents

I found 3 different brands of Mexican detergents, Ariel, Foca and Roma at the 99cent stores not far from us. Unfortunately I could not find the low suds formulation --Bajaespuma. How should I use this in a front loader? I'm worried it will trip up my new washer.

I also found tons of little bags of Tide made in China. I can't read it, does anyone know anything about this product? (or is this a "knock off"?)

I would not use it,Stay with the major brands.

I've used a bag of Chinese Tide. It's a more finely-ground powder than the domestic, and seems low-sudsing.

With all the problems with the bad ingredients from China in everything from pet food to toothpaste I would not try to save a few pennies a wash by buying Chinese or Mexican detergent. Neither country is known for their health and safety regulations - you could be getting anything in that soap. If you stick with brand-name products from well-known companies you are certainly not guaranteed total safety but you limit your degree of exposure. Any you can sue the fabric softener out of them if they mess up. Certainly you can find a detergent at Target or Wal-Mart that will get your clothes clean. Safely.

Ace, Ariel, Foca, and Roma are all OK. Been using them for months. Ace Limon is particularly nice for sheets and towels.

    dadoes,

how much do you use? my laundry is all kind of grimey looking from using the laundromat machines for a few weeks (i have no idea what happened or why...it broke my heart to see my whites come out dirtier than when they went in.) i really need a boost.

What oregpshow said. The stuff coming out of China is scary. I'm not as concerned about the Mexican stuff....untill I hear different.

oregpshow, stay away from Chinese honey.

I'm very afraid of any products made in China after the Colgate toothpaste problem. My Dh loves 99 cent store stuff. I try to stay out. He buys batteries there, even though they usually don't work, and the store has a no refund policy. Junk! Stay out of those stores!

I think the Chinese tide is made in the USA for export to China and never quite made it there. If you don't see a Made in ???, you can always call Proctor & Gamble and ask their customer service.

Jannie: I thought the refund policy at the 99 cents store was you get your money back if you return the product with receipt in 9 days. I think it states so on the receipt.

There is nothing wrong with the 99cent store if you know what you are getting. I stop by there often and look for good deals. You have to know that what you are getting is a good deal, because sometimes .99 is too high or it is not decent quality. I like these cookies that are just as good or better than the Girl Scout Cookies. They are called Winter Mints from Barbara Dee.

As for the .99 detergent. Think of it this way, it only cost you .99. Try it and see if you like it. You will only be out .99 and not $4.99. Start with a very small amount first, then add more if you need to.

I like the Ariel for my "whites". I do not care for the Ariel with Downey, because it is a different formula and therefore suds more.

Use unilever brands such as "ALL" they currently hold the patent to HE detergent and have the best low sudsing detergent, all the other brands have additives so that it does not infringe on the copyrights of unilever! Also if you run your HE washer after removing clothes and the water suds? You are using too much...expert with amounts to determine the correct amount, remember the detergent companies want to to use it up quickly to buy more....so use wisely! note adding bleach or other chemicals to detergent breakdown it down causing it to be less efficient, so again experiment, you will find bleach does more harm that good in most cases. even to your washing machine components!

At the local grocery this afternoon, the usual Mexican offerings are still there.

Well, I've used the Ariel regular. I've tried adding different amounts and it doesn't seem to suds up much at all. In fact, I've also been using Tide He liquid and it suds up alot more.

The Ariel seems to be working quite well, the test is the white socks and they came out cleaner than I have seen them in ages. I did add oxygen bleach and borax.

I actually put a pair of my son's socks to soak in some Ariel and went out of town for 10 days, just got back tonight, I had forgotten all about them. Well when I finally noticed them, they had practically cleaned themselves, there was a pool of dirt at the bottom of the bucket, of course they still needed to be washed though. The only thing was even after a wash in the machine, there was a slight bluish tinge (the color of the detergent)thats noticeable against the other whites. I wonder why they add color to detergent.

Blue reflects white light...so the blue in the detergent clings to the fibers in your clothes making your whites whiter and your colors brighter. Its tricking the eye...the detergent never fully leaves your clothes so there is always a slight residue.
