closet installation question

Currently, I have a Whirlpool top-loader and regular dryer in an upstairs hallway closet, behind 2 bifold doors.

While in Lowe's to look at replacements, I notice that one of the Whirlpools says that the washer (didn't check dryer) needs a "closet door with vents" that have minimum air openings at the top and bottom of a certain number of inches.

So what's up with today's washing machines that require this? Never noticed any ventilation issues with my current set up. Do I really need to worry about this--and change out the doors to louvered bifolds?
