My breakfast area is a pop-out half-octagon shape somewhat like cdecker's; kitchen to right, FR to left. HTH. Here's a bad pic; someday I'll figure out window treatments.

Red Roze - Love your kitchen. What kind of granite is that? Also, we need a sectional that size and style. Can I ask what brand?

As far as eating spaces go, we have our round table and chairs in between the kitchen and family room. We do have a formal dining room for company. I love having the kids there doing homework, etc. while I'm cooking.

thanks, homeimprovementdiva! The breakfast area is 10x10, the kitchen is 20x16. The paint is Benjamin Moore Mosaic Tile, which is a green with gray undertones. And the table - got it from a furniture store that is now out of business. It's a pedestal table with white pedestal and maple top.
