Hooks for Ceiling Mount Rods??

I'm new here (we've been on the old house forum for the last couple years). We've been completely renovating a very old home (circa 1838) and we're finally approaching decorating decisions. Whew...

I'd like to consider ceiling mounting some of the curtain rods, but how do you move the curtain past the mounting bracket? Do they make a hook that will move past the bracket? We'll need a support in the middle of the rod.

Looking forward to all your great insights. I've been lurking here while we've been doing all the hard stuff.
You folks seem to have lots of great ideas

You can use track rods or you can use the kind they use in hospital rooms.

Track rods would solve the problem, but most would look out of character in a house built in 1838. Is there a reason for not mounting the rods on the walls?

I do not know of a device that would lift a curtain over an obstruction like a center support bracket. You would need a rod designed for a traverse drape.

Thanks for the replies. I agree the the tracks would not "fit" the house very well. I'd like to avoid drilling the bathroom wall tile for mounting the curtain rods, which is why I was considering ceiling mount. Guess I'll have to re-think this one :(
