sparks coming from pellet stove outside pipe

installed my pellet stove last year, 90 degree str8 off the stove, up about 18 inches, about 3 ft horizontal to wall and about 2.5 horizontal outside wall with cap on it. sparks are flying out of cap. should i elbow it again outside and go up for a few feet?

Put a spark arrestor on the outlet.

Yes spark arrestor, and how far up above your roof is the flue?

Look at the venting directions for your stove. I doubt very
much you are vented properly. When does a stove have no
vertical rise ? I'm not talking direct vent or a condensing
furnace either. Pellet stoves are power vented.

tried spark arrestor and still a few sparks, will now go to vertical rise outside the house, as there is none, but should'nt need to go above roof line as flue shall be subject to year round prevailng breezes/winds

Sounds like you need a finer spark arrestor.

I'm sure code in your area is flue pipe must be at least one foot above roof top.
