I fell in love with a particular semi-flush Portfolio light for my kitchen - I needed two. The glass was white with marble-looking swirls in it. There was one box left in Lowes and it had been opened and retaped up. So I wanted to see why someone returned it. The glass was not cracked, but there was a flaw in the swirl and it really "looked" cracked! They told me there were 6 more on order and to come back on Friday and we could check out the glass before we purchase. So we went back on Friday and they were not in yet. So I waited a few days then called. Of the 100's of lights in the store I had to choose the model that has been discontinued. :>(

Anyone else on Portfolio lighting?

We're in the process of renovating my childhood home - my parents hadn't updated or changed a thing in 30 years - and I recently installed the Portfolio "Libbe" collection fixtures in the dining room, foyer, stairwell and 2 hallways. I don't see a thing wrong with them and had absolutely no problems with installation. I think they look great for the price - no regrets here!

We have a portfolio chandelier, and two flush mounts (one in hall and one over front entry way and we have never had any problems or regrets. We just finish installing one in the bath to match the others. Love the product, the look, and the price.

As a Electrical Pro at Lowes, My suggestion is that if you don't see a certain style or color check the SOS book, you might
just find that certain style or color. I hardly ever hear anything bad concerning the lights, the complaints that I
hear is "why is this being discontinued ?" well, to answer
that is pretty much, in order to get product in we must get rid of something else. alot of time discontinued does not mean never made, sometimes its still availible thru special order or other means, contact the accociate in electrical for assistance.

Ihave realy injoyed the.It makes the room look so good.

I bought 3 Portfoli outdoor wall lanterns that stated on the boxs they were solid brass and now I notice they are pitted/rusted. (more junk form CHINA) If I had the reciept they would be going back

Hello. I am an electrical contractor. Right now I have reservations about buying any Portfolio products from an installation standpoint because of non standard hardware. I had to install a fixture and because the supplied hardware was too short, I had to go into my supply for longer mounting bolts. Understand that for decades, all fixture brands and products and electrical parts all use either 6/32, 8/32, or 10/24 32? bolts. Portfolio uses what looks like 8/32 but the threading or size if off. 8/32 would not go into the brackets or the nuts. I can swap out the brackets with the bolts but the decorative nuts that hold the fixture up had to be replaced with another different one that I had that did not match. Those little nuts can not be threaded because you can not hold them sufficiently without damage. They are using some screwball manufacturer or whatever who is screwing up the hardware. If you loose hardware in move, need longer, or have to replace with new for some reason you have a problem. There are plenty of other comparable products allowing you to avoid such a problem. It is not worth it until they correct their hardware issues.

The box is made in China. Is the lighting also made in China?

I am in the process of returning the Portfolio light fixture I bought from Lowe's for the very reason explained by ariip. The included machine screw was only 1" and I needed a 1 1/2" machine screw. Well, you cannot find replacement parts, because they do not use Metric or Standard hardware. It's their own proprietary hardware. Very frustrating and I will never buy a Portfolio product again for this reason.
