Outside street lights to me mean 25 - 30 foot poles with 150watt - or higher High Pressure Sodium on top. Take a pretty big battery and big solar panel too to make it burn through some cold winter nights. Those batteries gonna cost a fortune for replacements and its not cheap to pay for the bucket truck to clean off dusty solar panels.

Talk to the local city or power co. to see if they can light you up. Here it used to be $2.50 per month per homeowner to lease extra streelights, which is pretty cheap considering I pay about $3 month now for my electricity to run about 60 watts of outdoor overnight fluorescent lighting. And I have to buy bulbs and change them myself & my costs too.
