You might try going to a lighting store and asking what kind of bulbs to put in there. A couple houses ago, our front door light burned out very frequently, and the people at the lighting store said it was the constant vibration caused by the door shutting. They recommended a bulb -- I think it was a traffic signal bulb -- and those would last for years. I think they were about $6.00 each but well worth it.
