Can't find a source? Just about any track lighting system would work for that. You just need two 8-foot sections connecting to the box. Do you want low-voltage or line voltage? Pendants for low-voltage are cheaper, but you have to buy a transformer, some of which develop an annoying buzz. I prefer line voltage tracks, or low-voltage monorails.

No problem with how long the track is. You need to lay out the track with the appropriate fittings to get what you need and then you are on your way to adding the lights. If you aren't sure what you need, a lighting showroom in your area should be able to assist.

Straight regular tracks can be cut with a hacksaw, so you would have to purchase 2 8' tracks as remodeler_matt states and then you could cut off the 2' you don't need. If you don't need to go the entire 14', you can configure your track to hang the lights for as long as you want them to be.

Wow that was to easy - the ID made such a HUGE sucking sound that I figured I really had made a mistake and I would have to take what I could rather than something I really want.

I have three 6 ft double hung windows over them are three 3x3ft transome windows - the view from the room is the lake. I really didn't want to have furniture and "stuff" in the way of the view. But it does need to be lit in the evenings and wanted something that could hang out of the way ( preferably centered in the transomes)
