need help with picking bedroom color-please

I purchased the bedroom ensemble that I would like to put in my master bedroom almost a year ago and have had such a hard time trying to pick out a wall color to compliment this ensemble. I am leaning more toward the soft yellow/gold side (that I have included in a picture) but not sure if this is right or not. The picture of the pillow did not photograph quite as gold as it really is. The ensemble is from the Jane Seymour Collection "Elderberry". I am not really a "green person" but if that is what would compliment the bedroom then I can go that way. I have read so many posts from those who know so much more about decorating than I do that I am asking for your help in trying to help me pull this room together. My bedroom set is a warm honey pine 6 poster bed, end tables armoire and and double dresser. The room is fairly large. I am hoping to do away with drapes in the room and have plantation shutters installed with perhaps as valance on top. I am thinking that I need to have wooden oak shutters and not white ones because of so much oak woodwork in my house. Many thanks in advance for any help on my dilemma.

Is this picture the same as your bedding? I pulled up Jane Seymour Elderberry and this was the photo they showed. I like a muted, soft gold like this picture.

I think the gold you have chosen (middle color on card) would look very nice with that ensemble. That being said, I am a green lover and I do think that a green would look good too and compliment the wood in the room. I'd get a sample or a quart of the gold and paint it on a foam board. Then hold it up next to the wood trim at different times of the day to see how it all looks. Maybe a green-toned gold would work best. Can you post a picture of your bedroom furniture? I'm assuming it's a different tone than the oak door that you're showing.

lindybarts & beache---yes this is my entire bedroom ensemble-including the dust ruffle-if I use it. Even in this picture it doesn't photograph the gold color well. I will try to post pics of my bedroom furniture tomorrow. The furniture is a little different than the door but not much. I will also try to post a pic of the carpet (would love to pull it up to expose the walnut floor) but I have an older Golden Retriever that does not do well on the hardwood floors. Thank you both so very much in advance for replying.

I vote for a soft muted gold with green overtones.

    Beautiful bedding!

lynn2006-Thank you for the kind comment about my bedding. I do love it (but it doesn't look too good right now tucked into my closet) ha ha Do you have a suggestion on a soft muted gold paint with green overtones? I would no doubt be using BM paint-would love to use the FB paint but I can't get it locally and am not going to pay to have it shipped. I am going to try to take some pics of the bedroom set today and post (waiting for the sun to come out so there will be better light)

If you wanted a gold with green undertones, try SW Ecru. In rooms with a lot of light it is a tan with gold. In darker rooms, it is more green. I have it in my MBR with SW Muslin trim.

I have posted some pictures of my master bedroom furniture that I hope will help. Below is a link that shows a dining room that has been painted in the Hot-Crossed Bun paint that is the middle paint color on the sample. After seeing this on a wall I am wondering if this is going to be too dark in my MB? I guess I am not seeing the "creaminess" that I was hoping for-however I do know that pictures can be misleading. Thanks for any help in advance.

It might just be my monitor but I don't care doe Hot Cross Bun at all. Looks a bit garish..but maybe it's the flash??

From Ben Moore, I like Decatur Buff (newhomebuilder has it in her house) and from SW, I like Anjou Pear. You can check out the gold and yellow in the gallery for a photo of that one. I think it's still in there. Lots of broken links lately. Sigh

    lindybarts-
I didn't care for the Hot Crossed Bun either-I thought it was rather garish (also) I started looking through my BM color charts and and found a color I think I like really well-what do you think? It is BM Shelburne Buff (HC-28)Wonder if anyone out there has used this color in a room?
