Until now I have been on the kitchen and appliance forums, but now I really need help with our California kitchen lighting plan. We are giving our kitchen a facelift (painting cabinets, replacing appliances, removing our large fluorescent light box which was centered over the island and installing recessed lighting throughout)

Our designer drew up this lighting plan with 10 recessed lights in a 12x12 kitchen. Based on the extensive reading I've done on this forum, it looks like we should have (8) 575 lumen lights and this design looks all wrong, but I'm not sure how to fix it. We need to be Title 24 compliant and plan to use led recessed lighting, either CR4 or CR6 (ecosmart brand)

Any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated! The lighting is supposed to be done next week, and I feel very under prepared!!
