Frigidaire front loader - trouble balancing....

I've got a Frigidaire front loader... model LTF2940FE1. It's only 4 months old. It seems that it has trouble balancing the loads prior to spinning. I've tried doing smaller loads, larger loads... it doesn't seem to matter what size the load is... I would usually wash just towels together or just a load of jeans... and have tried combining some towels with other whites, or a few pair of jeans with other darks... nothing seems to help.. over half the time it will take the whole spin cycle (between rinses) trying to balance, but never spin... then it goes on to the next rinse. Sometimes on the final spin - which i believe is 13 minutes total - it will MAYBE spin the last 2-3 minutes. This is aggravating... i don't feel the clothes are getting rinsed well when it doesn't spin between rinses... any ideas?.... suggestions... anyone else notice this with these electrolux made machines?

If it has been happening since it was new...sometimes there are bolts that are used for shipping that the installers (or you if you installed) might forget to remove and they can cause some of these problems. Just a thought...however, you have had it for 4 months, so I would utilize your warranty and get someone in to take a look!

    Hi:

I had a 2140, which is a similar design, and had the same experience. That is how they work. No amount of leveling, releveling, making sure the machine was dead stable at all corners, or selective loading helped. You can try to get better spin performance by making sure that large items make up no more than half of the load, as the instructions state, and by putting an equal number of large items in the load, but this doesnÂt guarantee that itÂs going to work. I also noticed the dismal rinsing effectiveness as a result of the failed spin attempts and was so annoyed with the machine that I got rid of it. I replaced it with a Frigemore, which is an older, simpler design. This machine works great. Unless the load is grossly unbalanced (a very rare occurrence), it spins no matter whatÂwhich might have something to do with why the bearing is often reported to wear out after about 5 years and why Frigidaire made the balancing function of the newer design more sensitive. The iffy bearing longevity is a risk IÂm willing to take because I find the washing and rinsing performance of this machine far superior to that of the 2140. Just my experience.

thanks "ya'll"... I may get someone out to look at... since I don't have to pay for it yet... if they can't do anything - then I'll just have to live with it I guess. Then again... I'd like to know if there's a way to adjust the sensitivity of the balancing.... I'm somewhat of a mechanical/technical person... If I knew there was a way to do that somewhere in the electronics... I'd do it myself.... I don't know... we'll see..

Any machine, Top loader/front loader, has to be level, and on a firm footing or flooring to start with, especially a front loader. Because your unit is fairly new, I would not think you would have the two shocks on either side of your under belly of the holding tub broken. But again, I just replaced the two in two Frigidaire FL'rs here yesterday, that were completely broken off, so removing the two screws on the front access plate will give you your answer if its the two stablelizer shocks located at the base of the holding tub in the middle area on both sides. Other areas of concern is of course the shipping bolts in the back (4) need to be removed. Next the four legs under the washer, should be as far up inside the base plate as possible, as the further out they are, the more the washer will vibrate and try to walk on you. Last but not least, is it level, is the floor strong. When the washer is in high spin out how does the floor feel when your standing next to the washer. If you let things continue, things can get out of hand, and your warrantee might not work for you. Having a good tech come out and look into your situation is a must. You mentioned you might just have to live with, it, don't u dare go with that. Something is wrong, period, and you make sure they make sense to you, when they are there, and action is taken now. brenton

the washer is level - I've checked it myself. You can't even see it move when it DOES decide it wants to spin... There are no shipping bolts in the back - I watched the delivery guys take them all out. I can barely feel any vibration in the floor when it's spinning... It's just too sensitive I think... I've literally sat there on the floor and watched it trying to balance. It ramps up speed enough to sling the clothes against the tub wall... and when everything looks balanced to me - little or no wobble that I can see within the drum - it stops and retries the sequence again... it looks as if it could've taken off to full speed but it doesn't... guess i'm just gonna have to get someone out here... but I already have a feeling it's going to be a waste of my time...
