Have you looked at Room and Board? They have great looking sofas. I haven't seen them in person, but I like thier styles.

Whatever you do, stay away from Thomasville! Their quality is just not there. I purchased a sectional that was delivered in January, 2012. The fabric on the casings stretched and the cushions decompressed within 30 minutes of sitting on them. They took that sectional back and a new one with a new fabric selection and supposedly stiffer cushions was delivered in June. As I sit writing this, I am missing 3 of the cushions. The sectional sure doesn't look like a new piece of furniture. Thomasville service took them to replace the cushion with a denser material because these also decompress quickly. They're hoping that the new material will do the trick, we'll see. On a positive note, at least my Thomasville store is working with me and trying to make it right and I'm grateful for that!

I hadn't looked at Room and Board. I live in KY, so there isn't a whole lot of options to go look at furniture in a show room. I've looked at Macy's and West Elm in store, and (seemingly) lots of online stores. I would really like to be able to sit on the furniture before purchasing it, so I am trying to find somewhere with a showroom in Cincinnati or somewhere not too far.

I like the styles of Room and Board's sofas, any idea of quality?

Search on Garden Web, Furniture Forum. There is a lot of good info about quality. This is where I discovered Lexington Furniture Company in Lexington, KY. We were moving from OK to DC and we were able to stop there and sit on/order 2 matching leather sofas, plus a chair and ottoman, and several case goods. At the time, the out of state salesperson was Angela; she was a delight to work with. We bought Hancock and Moore Sofas; they are of excellent quality and still look like the day we received them. You can choose your leather, make some adjustments to the measurements, etc. they have traditional and more modern styling. Even with shipping charges, the prices from this store were better than if we had ordered from NC, where most furniture is made. AMERICAN furniture, that is. A lot of companies are now importing particle wood furniture from China, of course. These sofas will probably still be around long after we are gone. Good luck with your search!

I would look at Ethan Allen if you have one in your area. Nice quality with medium price points. The hardest part will definitely be finding one that's the right size. Know what your maximum dimension can be and stick to it!
