need advice asap.. tan brown vs. black galaxy

Please please please give me some advice!!! I need my granite installed next week and am torn between black galaxy and tan brown. The granite guy needs the color ASAP and I keep postponing. Here are my kitchen colors:

Black appliances, cream walls, linen white cabinets and trim, ORB hardware and ORB faucet to be installed with the granite, medium oak floors, dark brown counter height wood table with dark brown/leather chairs.

I have both black and brown accents in my home that would go with both colors. I love the copper speckles in the black galaxy... But I also like the brown/copper chunks in the tan brown. I am driving myself insane with this. PLeASe respond someone!!!

Just my preference, but I'd definitely go with the black galaxy. I love the copper sparkle in it and I think that would look great with the other finishes you described. I much prefer the little sparkles to the chunks in the tan brown.

Thank you rocketmom for your quick response....I'll be glued to my computer checking up on others opinions until I feel confident in my decision. I too just love the copper speckles. I was just unsure if ORB would tie into black galaxy. I think it's the gold speckles that would tie it all together.

We have black galaxy granite for the bar countertop in our rec room and love it! The subtle small sparkles with lighting are truly neat! What's also nice about it is that from afar, it looks like polished absolute black.
It will look great in your kitchen and compliment your already nice choices.
    Good luck!

Oh dear this is really a tough choice.
But don't beat yourself up. In all honesty both will
    look good.

You say you have black and browns. What about other metals?
Door knobs throughout house, cabinet doors, faucet,
fireplace, light fixtures...What metal do they have?
ORB in only the faucet and light fixture or everywhere?
Does the kitchen open up to other rooms?
Do decorate in a more contemporary style, transitional
    or truly country?

Meanwhile here are some thoughts and these are just my
    opinions without knowing the above.

Black Glaxay makes me think of.....
modern, contemporary, sleek, cold, clean lines, polished
Even looking at the mini sample above I think of outerspace
looking at stars and a cleaner pattern, less movement.

Tan brown makes me think of.....
warm, casual, comfortable, soft, town&country, relaxed,
Looking at the sample above I see almost a flower shape or
pattern with more movement than the galaxy.

Based on what it makes me think of and the ORB that you
have already chosen, I am leaning toward Tan Brown. The
right tan brown slab will show some ORB colors in it,
and still have browns yet dark enough to look black from
    10-30 feet away.

If I could figure out how to post pics from my iPad I could show a ton of kitchen picures.

Anyway... Most of the hardware in my home is ORB...door knobs and light fixtures... But my kitchen is seen right when you walk in my house through my foyer. My foyer has oak stairs with black iron railings. I have traditional taste with a modern flare...whatever that means. I do have an oriental rug in my foyer that is black/brown with cream.

I know both colors will look good..... I just wish I knew what would look best!

I'll try to figure out how to post pics from this iPad. I can do it in my laptop but it's so slow it would take me an hour.

I vote Black Galaxy. It is a beautiful stone.

I went back and did a search for Black Galaxy.
And I think...I want to change my vote. Which means
I can not imagine having to choose one of these beautiful
    stones.
They are both lovely as you can very well see.

WHAT?!?!?! You changed your vote?!? You were my only saving grace! I just got a call from the granite guy and he way upped the charge on black galaxy...which ultimately made my decision very easy for me. I thought to myself " well...boxerpups had some really good points about tan brown... More warm,etc....". And now you come back with these pics that make me want to cry?!??

Oh I'm just teasing. But seriously though, the BG is too expensive for me so TB it is. Though I don't think that last pic is black galaxy. It looks more like tan brown.
I can't wait to post my finished pics. Thanks for all your advice.

If it makes you feel any better, even though the black galaxy is beautiful, I think the tan brown is a warm choice and I like it better with the oil rubbed bronze. I am sure you will be very happy with it!

I have tan brown with oil rubbed bronze fixtures in my kitchen and love it. Our cabinets are Schrock Toasted Almond and we have SS appliances. I also have Black Galaxy in the family room & love the copper specks. I like the tan brown better in the kitchen. If I get a chance to cleanup I will try to post some pictures

Thank you guys for your encouraging words on TB. I do think BG is beautiful, rich, and stunning.. but I also know tan brown is the right choice for my kitchen.....AND my wallet.

THATS It !!!! I switch back.
    ; )

Yes the last is tan brown. I forgot to edit my post.

I totally understand how difficult this choice is. And
in some ways isn't great that one of them is too much.
SOOooooooooooooo much easier to now know what you are going
    to get.

Now that we know Tan brown is the winner lets add a few
more kitchen eye candy to the mix so you can see what
    a WONDERFUL choice you made.
