I could see a black pencil liner with a white on white tile inside the liner for behind the range or iron pencil liner with the white on white but not all three. I think the stark contrast at eye level will detract from the granite.

It would really help if we could see a photo.

There are a lot of lovely kitchens on here in your palette that chose plain white subway or variants therof (i particularly like the subways that are a little "fatter", maybe they are 4x6, not sure).

If you want to show off the granite, why not go very very simple. I think it looks striking, especially with a fruit in a bowl or a vase of flowers or a potted rosemary, etc.

In my last kitchen I had a fussy backsplash (monocrhomatic and creamy, but lots of liners and details and texture). I got tired of it.

There was a kitchen with your colors posted a year ago. Her name was Robinst December 09. She used white marble subway tiles (from Lowes no less), very small subway. Her kitchen was beautiful.
