Thanks for the pics, We were thinking about multiple countertop surfaces. Ie, dark hard wood on island, copper on eiter side of wolf range, and granite for the rest. Will this be too busy, or in keeping with the Old World Style? How will the copper look next to the SS wolf range? Any help will be apprecitated. P.S. We're now leaning towards dark hardwood floors as well.

What kind of Old World are you thinking about? Old World English, I'd probably go for a dark wood floor. Old World Tuscan, probably brick or wood. I have an Old World New Mexican/Mexican kitchen and I think our brick floors are perfect with it. As for the muti-surface counters, it depends on how big your kitchen is. IMHO, I think three would be too busy in most kitchens. I'm not sure that the copper would look all that good next to the Wolf range, although I'm having a hard time picturing it in the first place.

Maybe one of the surfaces could be large, with the others supportive. After all, whether well-to-do or poor, they put up the harvests from outside in those kitchens.
