I need help finding a kitchen on GW

Now that the finished kitchens blog is no longer being updated, I'm having a heck of a time finding pictures of finished kitchens that I have seen on here over the past year. Obviously I don't remember whose they were and every time I put in search words of thread topics that I think might lead me to something I get a bizzillion hits for "Colorful Mexican Kitchens!"

One in particular that I am looking for was a white kitchen with a big island that opened to a dining/living area. It was a pretty big kitchen with the stove centered on the back wall and the sink to the left. I think the island may have been a different finish from the cabinets. There definitely was a built in hutch to the right of the dining area. It was not painted white. There was a farm table in the dining area.

I know this kitchen sounds like it could have been just about anyone's but it had a unique feel to it. It was a little rustic and contemporary all at the same time. I did not save it since all I have considered for the past year was quartersawn oak mission kitchens, but I did oh and ah every time this kitchen popped up in a thread. Now I wish I could find it.

Any help please??? Thanks.

is anyone going to start a 2nd site for finished kitchens here? I'd be willing to spend the time to do it if no one else is interested.

I wish I saved a lot of the photos here sometimes since some of the people with great kitchens don't post often enough.

Does anyone know what became of starpoo? I think it would be great if someone took it on. We've missed a lot of finished kitchens in the past year.

I think rhome started a thread a while back asking if anyone knew what happened to Starpooh. I don't think there was an answer to that one and I can't find the thread on a search here or Google. I hope she is OK.

igarvin--are you volunteering to maintain the Blog? If so, I'm sure that would be great!! As long as someone knows what happened to Starpooh.

I'm getting frustrated also with so many fabulous kitchens not getting saved for us.

    Ncamy--sorry, but I don't remember that kitchen.

I never heard anything from or about Starpooh...So I'm no help. I worry about what took her away from it so completely.

Ncamy, I just did a search trying to find the kitchen you're talking about, and although some I found were close, I don't think any fit all of your description. It seems there have been quite a few kitchens that fit the general details, but I'm not sure how to search more specifically. I can see some in my mind that I wasn't able to locate in the search.

ncamy, it's not jbrodie's kitchen, it? I don't think there is a hutch, though there is one in her inspiration pic of a friend's house (scroll down for that).

I've been using "clip this post" a lot on GW, esp the Kitchen forum, which is helpful for me. Also less to look through each time than on FKB.

Maybe Firsthouse's? Hutch is white so probably not what you're looking for.............

I'd love to help start a new blog. I wouldnt be able to do it all by myself, but would defnitely be able to partner up or work with a grop to get er done!!

Sorry I dont remember that kitchen.

Breezygirl: That's it!! Guess I didn't remember the details too well, but that's definitely the one. I liked the mix of contemporary and old.

Anyway I'm glad I started this thread and got folks talking about maintaining a gallery of sorts. I'm obviously inept at technology since I couldn't manage to find anything but "Colorful Mexican Kitchens." lol (You know what's funny? I never even remember seeing the Colorful Mexican Kitchens threads on here, yet that's the only thing that ever shows up in my searches.)

So once again, thanks GW for coming together to help a soul out.

I started searching out of pure curiosity.

NCAmy, the Colorful Mexican Kitchens threads were in conversations, and although they were about kitchens, there was also a lot of building casles in Spain. Unfortunately, I don't think the search function does Boolians.

I'd be willing to work on the second FKB, but I'd need to learn more about indexing. I'll see if I can look at what Starpooh did and see how it works.

YES. Good job, Breezy. That's the one I had in mind, but couldn't remember Firsthouse's name! I was surprised that in my google search with the clues I gave it didn't turn up.

Wooohooo for me!! ;) Hers is one of my favs, but I don't know why I thought of it because it only partially matches your description.

Those darn Colorful Mexican Kitchen threads show up on so many of my searches. Searching here sucks!

WOW PLLLOG! If you would be willing to take the FKB on it would be great. Igarvin also mentioned it. I'm also tech-illiterate but can follow directions. When my house reno is over later this year, I can help too. It would be a great way for me to give back considering how much I've gotten from GW. Please, please someone pick up the Blog!

Ncamy, so glad Breezy found the kitchen for you! That's a beautiful kitchen.

I've been wondering about Starpooh for the last few months. I hope she's okay. I'm glad to help with a second FKB, but be warned that I'm completely inept at computer stuff. All I know is MS Office. I can follow directions though--at least most of the time, lol!

ncamy: I am glad Breezy thought of my kitchen since I might not have volunteered mine due to the lack of a hutch. If you want any other pics, I am happy to post them :)

I too hope Starpooh's hard work and amazing cataloguing will not expire. I can't imagine that. So so many times I looked at others' gorgeous kitchens for inspiration, solutions and help.
