ok, here are the details: my range is Lacanche, Thermador Freedom Columns, Bosch dishwasher. We don't want to use stainless, but we don't have standard cabinetry that offers appliance panels. We have a free-standing kitchen; we ended up with built-in units for reasons other than an integrated look. I had many ideas of what I wanted to use for my panels:

1. Sheets of Dichroic glass, or any temperable decorative glass
   
2. Sheets of Lumicor
   
3. Glass mosaic tile
   
4. Antique trellises
   
5. panels from an antique Indonesian screen
   
6. salvaged shutters
   
7. salvaged stained glass windows
   
   These have all been rejected, mostly due to cost or weight. The weight issue has me confused; in magazines I have even seen granite used as panel, but according to the Thermador representative and manual, any more than 33lbs. violates the warranty. Wouldn't even stainless panels exceed that amount? The temporary plywood panels I have now certainly weigh more than 33lbs. Has anyone else encountered this issue? And, more importantly DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR ME????????? Thanks, njgh
