Help! Tone down the shine?

I have BM Simply White in satin on my kitchen cabinets. I love them!

But I have BM Simply White on my trim in semi gloss and I can't stand the shine. In fact I'm not even sure it's Simply White. A new painter showed me the paint can and it says Simply White on the tag but it doesn't have the codes/formula printed on it, like the can of Satin that I used for cabinets (different painter).

How do I tone down that shine? Can I repaint on top with the satin? Do I need to sand all that trim?

Just paint over it with the satin. I would only sand if it's been a few years since the trim was painted or if there is some roughness.

Hi Paintguy, I plan to try a hidden section today.

tbo123- the paint is regal advance in semi gloss. But I took it to the paint store yesterday and they agreed with me that it is acting like high gloss. They don't seem to know why!
