X post...Yeah for Southern Living...

The March issue has the long awaited article on our DS1 and the YellowHammer Restaurant and the town of Waverly AL. We are thrilled. To celebrate I made Chocolate Cherry Sourdough using my own wild yeast starter...it is so yum. I wish I could share with you all.

Oh that makes two of us...that looks sooooo yummy. MY daughter has been to 5 SL parties in the past 2 months..She loves the merchandise, for a Yankee girl that's pretty impressive.

    Yum!

I remember reading all of your DS's menus from a post on the conversations side, a while back.

    They were fabulous.

THANK YOU Jen and ttod parma and gemeni!! He is still making amazing things and changes the menu at least weekly and lots of times more than that.

Gemini : what is an SL party? Haven't heard of that.

ttod they first came last April then they came back again and took a lot of pics this past fall. Then they called and were to come one more time and didn't. The turn around on the mag is a LONG time. sigh...we are just glad it came out. c

Your post actually made me remember they took pictures of me and my family at the Bocce ball court dowtown in Little Italy. The woman said the article would appear in the April or May issue of 2009. That was in the late fall of 2007. At the time I thought I'd never remember to buy the publication but you've sparked my memory! At the time we didn't have this nice new big house either so I should just subscribe now!

Oh Trailrunner congratulations on the SL spread. I know you and your daughter and your entire family must be so proud.

I must get down there to Waverly and taste that wonderful food there at The Yellow Hammer. When the weather breaks and Spring is here I am coming down.

Is Waverly near Auburn University, or there about?

I'm running out tomorrow to get the March issue.

Well dang! I thought for sure my issue would be here today. I got BHG yesterday and they are usually right together.

I love the articles where they focus on particular cities. Can't wait to read about the restaurant!

    Congratulations to All!!

And the bread does look VERY yummy! Bet the whole house smelled like that gorgeous loaf! :)

Jan (pass the bread please -- is there any butter for it? I wonder if it would taste good with butter and honey? I wonder if it would make a bread pudding base?)

congratulations! how wonderful! and, from one baker to another, please, can I have the recipe? Do you use dried cherries, frozen, pie?

I can envision that as the base of a luscious bread pudding, with whiskey sauce...

walkin here is a link to the recipe . It is on The Fresh Loaf. You can access their recipes w/o joining. Use search function on the top L of the screen. It is very yummy indeed. It is made w/ dried cherries. My DS1 got me a 5# bag from his supplier. They are so big and soft I only soaked them a very few minutes. I also baked the loaf in the Le Creuset just like you do the Sullivan St bread. I will bake it at 450 next time not 500. And also I will not score it on the top as after I worked so hard to make sure all the choc/cherries were inside then I scored the loaf as the inst. said...duh...opened it right up. Although the taste of the few charred pieces on top w/ the red wine were very yummy. If you have any questions you can e-mail me through GW. GOOD LUCK !
