bathroom redo- almost done!

This house was built in 1923. In 1998 we renovated the bathroom from the floor up- literally- DH took out everything- you could look up to the bathroom ceiling from the kitchen below. We bought all new fixtures and flooring and wallpaper and DIYd the whole enchilada. It is a teeny bathroom- and the only one.

FAST FORWARD to 2010:

I started peeling away the old wallpaper before Thanksgiving. Of course the walls needed some sprucing up before they could be painted.

It was finished about a month ago. All but the towel bar on the door( DH has to cut a bar he ordered - all of the standard are too short)And the radiator needs to be painted.

The mirror is the same as are the lights above the mirror. This was a paint and shower curtain job! I do have an alternative vintage shelf thingie I found( really) that needs to be glued and then painted that I might put instead of the black cabinet( which was oak until December- my one painting contribution) but IDK.

The frames are from Michaels(4.99 ea) and the photos are notecards( $2.00ea)of Aubrey Bodine photos. All of Baltimore in the 20s, 30s and then 60s. I thought it would be fun to have local photos.the frames were already matted and painted! the insert in the door is fabric. Put on vintage glass knobs on cabinet I have found and saved for projects.

The color is MS Ballet slipper pink. and it is.The colors arent particulary true in the photos- just think of a ballet slipper and that is it! Oh and ignore the rug- wrong color. and the photos are a bit blurry. Before:Mirror too small?? lol

That's a great wall color! Love it with the black accessories. Pretty toilet and sink too. The china piece on top of the cabinet with the pink rim is really pretty in there. I love everything. What a pretty room!

That is so lovely. I love it all. I am not a pink person but it works so well with the black and white. I never thought of note cards for wall art. Genius!

LOL on the before mirror. What a hoot. I was going to tell you to take a bow but maybe you should do a ballerina twirl.

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I must admit that I decided to post it yesterday because I just needed kind words. Too much stress IRL. thank you kindly.

We love the bathroom- even my DH and DS! We loved it when we reno'd it and wallpapered it in the late 90s too. I saved the brass towel bars cause they were very expensive- for the next redo! LOL

KK- I ain't twirlin' you goof! I just got a steroid injection for bursitis in my hip- I have been home from work since last Thurs. ouchiewahwah. I have to rest, like a primadonna

Take care of yourself, you goofy primadonna.

    Beautiful! Great job :).

Adorable. I love the shade of pink not too Barbie not too salmon. Really classy!

Very, very nice!! The pink and black - very Coco Chanel. Excellent work, very classy look!

Pink and black might be my favorite color combo. Very, very pretty!! You picked a great pink, too.

Thanks you guys. I am pretty sure I plucked ideas from several different posts here! I hobble in just to look at it! It is a long way from the 90s wallpaper- which you all didnt see.
I just went through a list in my head and came up with a total of $227. Oh, not including that cool vintage pink and black sugarbowl from Goodwill! Add 1.00!

So, the lesson here is boys and girls, funny looks, dead, dead silence, rolling of the eyes from friends and family when the color pink was chosen do not necessarily predict the outcome.
