I'm in Florida, painting furniture in a garage...you don't want to see pictures, trust me.

I recently (re)learned how to knit. This sofa has become my knitting station! This is an older pic, but now there is a large basket of yarn by the sofa, and a vase full of various knitting needles. This used to be a traditional dining room but since we never used it, I converted it to a library-ish room where we can also eat!

Both look warm and cozy! Stay warm and safe.

I am right down the street from MaddieLee so I had to turn the ceiling fan on last night...sorry.

Great topic, even DH think's the same since I had to get in front of the TV when I took the picture. lol

But let me clarify a few things first:

Sheet on the sofa because of big dog whose muddy paw prints are everywhere due to the snow.

DH refuses to let me get rid of green chair. lol

I still have my Christmas runner on my coffee table.

I use the TV tray because I love to eat, read and watch TV at the same time. :)

My little corner of the world, and it's going to be 18 on Wednesday with MORE snow.

Oh, I put the quilt on the sofa this morning just to see how it would look. I like it for comfy sake, although it doesn't match.

Jen, since you're just south of me be prepared to get snowed in on Tuesday/Wednesday. Heavy snow predicted so it may come your way.

I've either been in bed or on the couch all week. Finally feeling better after the most wicked viral syndrome I've had in a long time. I don't have any good pics of our LR. Mostly because it's very much a work in progress. Just close your eyes and picture a ratty couch, computer equipment, and some snuggly cats.

I'm in the midst of interior renos.

A stub wall at the base of the stairs has been removed and spindles are going in to open up the stair case.

The entry between the front hall and the living room is getting a makeover, making the hall a bit bigger and giving us book/display cases in the living room.

Haven't been snowed in here thank goodness! My "spot" of choice is usually the sunroom. Love the brightness and being able to watch everything outdoors. Today was gorgeous and sunny but quite chilly and windy so didn't spend much time outside.

I'm not a tv person so in the evenings you'll find me either in the kitchen at the nook table or office working on some project or other, or in the MB - on my laptop or such as this evening looking through some mags. On the lookout for a new comfy reading chair and ottoman for that room.

No snow here, but I usually spend early mornings and early evenings at the computer in the bedroom that I have set up as a home office. Later in the evening, I'll move to a comfortable chair in my bedroom for a bit of television watching. I think it's amusing when television designers take televisions out of bedrooms. While mine is in a cabinet that gets closed up before bed, I still like to watch in the bedroom.

Not warm and cozy but I went out on the Pacific Ocean, first time on a boat!!! To see whales, dolphins, seals, jelly fish, etc. Can't wait to go again... And again, and again!

Command Central with the fireplace going, several dogs draped on the furntiture, my laptop and cellphone nearby and a huge steaming cup of tea.

I have a corner of my family room that is what my
son calls my Command Station :) it has my big old wing
back chair, footstool, to my right is a small end table, with my phone and books that I'm
currently reading and along side that another end table... also on the left is a big box window for a backyard view. On
the right is the Fireplace hearth which has a decorative box on the hearth
with my camera, flipshare and headphones. on top of the box
is a small wicker round tray for the remote and my glasses.
...in front of the chair is a laptop, on a table we made specifically made for the laptop...and directly in front of my chair is the
big tv...last but not least I have an antique gas light
(converted to electric) that has a pull chain to operate it from my chair...hence the name "Command Station"
this is probably more than you wanted to know, but, in
order to describe the comfort zone, I had to go into
detail...I try and get a pic later...

We were without heat for a few days. The state's gas company got our entire village hooked back up the evening of my birthday (Friday, 2/4 . . . not a fun birthday!). That, plus the snow and -14 degree temps had us trying to stay warm and cozy in our family room. Thankfully, we'd just had a new cord of wood delivered recently and had picked up an electric space heater at Costco, just in case!

On the bright side, we still had electricity, so I could use the microwave and ovens to cook.
Jen, it's good to see a recent pic of your wonderful attic sanctuary. I've always liked that space of yours!

Lol I have to wait until tomorrow to take a picture. I just crawled out of a sixteen foot deep brick and cement cistern which was discovered in our back yard. We are making a wine cellar out of it and I'm working with a helper guy (ok strong arms lol) to sort through the last four feet of dirt looking for Victorian trash. We got five buckets of antique bottles today. I'm exhausted! But it was certainly fun!

I smell like 100 year old cistern dirt so I'm off for a shower....hot hot shower

But seriously... I have been in there all week finishing the clean out (120 year old trash, including a crank start for a model t car). So my next decorating post will be: how would you decorate the cistern? LOL We're turning it into a wine cellar...won't that be fun to decorate? :)

Wonderful nooks & crannies, cozy rooms, gonna-be cozy rooms shared here! I'm holed up in my little alcove right now (fighting a bad cold or touch of the flu or something - blah - but it's a nice place to curl up and kinda feel sorry for myself!).

Bodica, sounds like you have been on a real adventure! Whereabouts were you? On vacation?

Igloo, you have now fascinated me. How on earth are you going to turn this into a wine cellar? Details, woman! Details!

Jen I hope it turns into nothing more than a 24 hour bug that leaves you alone!

So that huge hole....it sits just a few feet outside of the kitchen and about fifteen feet from a lower level basement door that was installed in the 30s for the nurses apartment. We are going to use that underground door (which currently rises inside a shed steeply) and instead you'll walk out of it and go down through a tunnel made of fiberglass (which can be coated with whatever surface we want) into the base of the cistern. It is about 16' deep so you will enter and see a spiril staircase in the center rising to a platform. Wine storage two bottles deep (3000 case capacity....and no we have nothing near that lol) you walk up the spiral and 8' up you end up in the platform which will be a tasting room with a glass ceiling above.

Decor will be somewhere between midevil and mining tunnel chic. I think I am going to hide the eNterance in our pool room in a book case just for added fun :).

Building it will suck the life out of our wine budget...so maybe we can store friends wine? Heh heh

Forhgtv, I agree about designers wanting to get rid of TVs in the bedroom. I love laying in bed laughing at the late night shows, reading, doing my nails, etc.

Last night I got so comfy in my corner of the world (sofa) I stayed up until 1am finishing a book that scared me to death and I told my dh he could NOT go to bed until I was finished! lol

I darn near decided to sleep on the sofa instead of walking back to the bedroom!
