Favorite Sheets

I have always been a middle of the road gal and typically buy anywhere from 500-700 thread count. I have had a couple of different QVC brands in the past. One was Northern Nights and the other began with a v. Mind Blank now lol! Anyway my dh is on a low dose of chemo to treat RA and suffers from night sweats. I typically have two pair and rotate a couple of times per week. About a year ago I got some at SAMs Club but they are thread bare and show a stain from the sweat. I want something better! Any advice appreciated!

When I learned that a lot of sheets are imported from China and contain chemicals in the processing of the cotton/polyester, I stopped using most brands of sheets. I now only use Sferra or other brands that are made in Italy or 100% organic sheets that are grown here and made here or in India. I bought a set of organics from Linen Source a few months ago that are the best sheets I've ever had, but unfortunately they discontinued them. A double set was $80.00. I would love to find some more sheets that are the same quality and priced right. I bought another organic set from another store for a cheaper price and they are so thin I can read the paper through them. Of course with 100% cotton comes some ironing, but I don't mind.

I always buy egyptian cotton sheets made in Italy - I find them in TJ Maxx or Marshalls for around $100 a queen set. They usually last me about a year. Wishing the best for your dh.

Sferra at Tuesday morning if you can find them. I have mine laundered and pressed at the cleaners and consider that my secret splurge. I feel like I'm getting into bed at a 5 star hotel every night!

Sferra Brothers or Frette are my favorites. However, I have a set of summer sheets that are a lovely twill (strange but true) from Peacock Alley. In winter we use German flannel sheets from Garnet Hill, they are the store brand for Garnet--- no other name on them besides country of origin.

I believe Peacock Alley is Sferra. I also buy Sferra sheets are TM.

I also buy my sheets at Tuesday Morning... I cannot remember the brand but am very pleased. I usually spend ~$80 for a queen set. Also wishing the best for your dh!

I like Bed bath beyond beech sateen sheets. They are around $100 for king size--but there are always 20% off coupons.

We had some DreamFit sheets that were perfect...soft, cool, non-wrinkly, and the only ones that didn't creep off the mattress corners! However, I must've caught them on the bedframe, because we found a small rip that became a big hole. I plan to replace them with more DreamFits, but my husband got these before we married & has no idea what fabric content or thread count they are, so I haven't been able to make a decision.

Last Christmas I bought a set of the Classic Sheets from Pottery Barn Outlet. The thread count is 400 and they are fabulous! They totally remind me of the sheets we had when I was a kid. 100% percale cotton, soft and not slinky feeling which is the reason I hate the Sateen stuff.

The bonus is their sizing. The top sheet of the queen is perfectly sized for a tall mattress with ample coverage on each side and the fitted sheet actually fits completely over the side and under the edge of the mattress on ALL four corners as well. That's a first for me. There's been no piling up from the threads, no staining from night sweating and the color, a light sage has not faded at all. The price for them was a bit more than I wanted to pay originally but it's obviously worth it and now I plan on buying a second set.

I'm sorry about your husband's health. This year i bought several sets of Company Store Velvet flannel sheets and duvet covers. They really do feel like velvet (or more like velveteen) and DON'T PILL. Not even close to pilling. I can't believe how much I love getting into bed at night now. They will probably stay even in the summer, because where I live it almost always cools down enough at night to need at least a light cover.

I love Ralph Lauren sheets, mainly because of the patterns. But they wear like iron and last for years looking fresh and the colors vibrant.
Pricey though. Coupons (Macys), sales, ebay, helps.

I love Restoration Hardware sheets. Pricey but they are so soft and smooth. Worth every penny.

Believe it or not, I bought these sheets linked below on Overstock. They are great, and you cannot beat the price. I originally bought a twin set for my DS's room and honestly didn't expect much for the price. I was so suprised at the quality. Very soft and get better with each wash. Liked them so much bought 2 sets for my queen bed.
