My Boxer

Last nite I had my Boxer put down as he had stopped eating and drinking even with help. The tests showed that it was 99% sure to be cancer and I could not let him go on like this. He had lost 10 lb in less than 2 weeks. It all went very peacefully as he was sedated first and he went to sleep in my arms. The vets stayed with me for about 15 minutes and it helped so much to talk. Of course it was hard when I got home. This dog wasn't even 4 yet. What a sad ending for such a beautiful dog. Thanx for listening to me babble.

awww, i'm so sorry for your loss and what a shame it had to happen to such a young dog. having lost my 2 corgis in the last 5 months, i feel your pain.

this was the last act of kindness and love you could give your boy. i hope the wonderful memories you have will help your heart heal.

((((((gentle hugs)))))) to you in your sorrow.

beegood, I am so sorry!! But you made the right decision to keep him from further suffering. Boxers have such wonderful personalities and it's so unfair that they are prone to lots of health problems and so short-lived.

We lost our 8 year old Boxer girl almost 4 years ago. She was very ill and we never did get a definite diagnosis, even after ultrasound and other tests. She had a blood transfusion, but after just a couple days, she was anemic again. The last time we took her to the vet for yet more tests, she passed away in the treatment room just as the vet was coming in.

Daing it. One of the bad things about pure breeds, Boxers are so prone to so many health problems. Look it isnt quantity of life, but quality, and I bet your pup had a great life with you.

I am so sorry. We had to put our Shiba down in October, and sometimes I still just miss him so much.

It was the kindest thing you could have done - save him from further suffering.

I lost my chow after 16 yrs, I missed her so much that I found another black female just like the first one. It has made things much easier. It's like she never left.

I don't think non dog people understand how much a dog is part of your life. When they pass on for what ever reason it hurts.... a lot and takes a long time to get over. Here is a big (((( hug ))) to all of you who have lost a loved pet
