You can also use it to wrap brushes and rollers without cleaning when re-using the next day, but not for extended lengths of time.

I use it to wrap brushes and rollers that still have paint on them and then freeze them. When I need a touch of paint to cover a scratch or mark just unfreeze, paint, refreeze. Works well for me.

I decided to paint the double garage this fall with an off white VALSPAR mismatch bucket. (Marked down to $60 and there was a $20 rebate at the time that they actually excepted!)

Anyway, I did a wall one Saturday and intended to do another Sunday. I was using a metal tray with a platic disposable liner. I double bagged the tray, roller and brush in WalMart bags and tied closed. Well, I did not get to paint Sunday...in fact it was at least week before I got to it. When I opened the bags, to my surprise it was still good. That one roller remained that way over the next month until I finished. Maybe the cooler weather preserved everything since I kept it on a shelf in the garage...not sure.!

I've never done it with trays, but I routinely wrap rollers in plastic grocery bags or plastic wrap, and keep them at room temperature. They'll be fine for days. I've even carried them around in the back of my car and they were fine. I do wash out my brushes each time I finish.

No need what so ever to have paint brushes wrapped up in your freezer, it does no good at all.It works,yes, but why have chemicals mixed in with your food?Just wrap them up well in plastic and leave them away from any food, they will not dry out and actually freezing them makes them dry out faster----- freezer burn?
