We had a Frazee paint store here until H.D. ran them ,(and everyone else), out of dodge. I've used both exterior and interior semigloss by Frazee over 12 years ago on a project and it's still looking fine. The exterior facia/eaves/trims were a darker blue with the siding on the addition as well as the interior close to a "navaho" white. The siding was new and primered, the facia/eaves/trims were existing,(re-paint), and the interior of the addition was over primered drywall. Covered well and appearenly holding up well.

There's a world of difference between those two. Depending on the brand/base you use, there will be satin , pearl and whatever other names the companies want to call them.

For living areas, most choose either flat (not very washable), eggshell, or satin.

Semi is usually only used in bathrooms, kitchens and trim (not counting a conscious decorating decision where gloss is used for effect). With good quality satin, you don't need to use in those rooms, either.

parma42: thank you, also! I am aware of the differences in finish. The immediate area is the garage. I am considering semigloss there due to it being much easier to clean. Dogs, water toys, camping gear, etc means this area will be subject to higher abuse. The main rooms will probably be eggshell, except kitchen, mud room and bathrooms.

Anyone have experience with interior Frazee vs interior Pratt & Lambert? We are doing P&L in the garage, just wondering about the rest of the house. Cost difference is about $10/gallon, and we will need a LOT of paint.
