Many of the kennel panel and kits sold at the big box and national pet stores are not stainless steel but rather galvanized steel (which is NOT stainless and does not perform as well). The best stainless kennel panels I have found are at Mason Company in Ohio. They are expensive but they do not rust after extensive cleaning with water and disinfection as do the powder coated kennels. You should also be aware of how these are welded as some welds perform better than others.

My comments are from the perspective of someone who breeds/shows Bernese Mountain Dogs (large breed, 80 to 120 lbs) on a small scale and someone who has worked in a national breed rescue organization and the breed health foundation. My dogs live with me but also spend time in their enclosed kennels (which they love as their private space) that open up onto a 5-acre fenced-in pasture.

The facility pictured on the Houzz website for these rescued dogs is nothing short of fabulous. Compare it to most shelters and the previous conditions these dogs have experienced. For those not familiar the grizzly aspects of rescue, a dog "in rescue" is one that has been saved from far worse conditions (abuse, abandonment, or euthanization). Again, this is a beautiful facility.
