Have a cat, Figgy, who is a bit of a puker. When he first came here it was pretty frequently - sometimes almost every morning, and only in the morning. Nothing worse than stepping in a nice soft slimy warm pile of puke - uggghhhh.

Vet never thought it was anything to worry about, and thought it was eating too fast and too much, and there could be something to that - feeding only small quantities at a time, waiting a half hour, then feeding a little more does seem to help prevent it.

Or it could be something hairball related - he does groom and lick himself a lot more than Orange, he even licks Orange regularly and keeps him well groomed. But I've never seen a hairball regurgitated, and why would it be only in the morning.

So then Figgy went missing last fall, and was gone six weeks. Before he left he was kind of chunky, not really huge and obese like some cats, still played and ran around but the vet said he was overweight. When I got him back he was VERY skinny. He just ate non stop for days - I fed Fancy Feast because I thought aha- nows my chance to get him off the high carb kibble as Id been trying to do. Success!! He's even eating chicken and meat now which he refused before.

Even with all the eating there was NO PUKING - for weeks! I was so happy thinking whatever was the problem had resolved itself. But as his weight comes back - he's puking again - and its almost always in the morning again. Not all the time - it seems to go in streaks. I did start feeding a little bit of dry (grain free - but not a lot, just a few handfuls at night.

Vet will be coming over for shots so I'll ask her but wondering if any of yall have any thoughts.

BTW, he's looking really great - at a good weight now, and has so much energy and shiny coat.
