faucet suggestions?

From a strictly visual perspective, I really like the looks of the Moen Aberdeen, Kohler vinatta type faucets.

Folks have mentioned how large they are, and when I measured the height at my sink, I would agree.

What other faucets have you found that are attractive and not quite so huge? (photos are nice)

I was going to go with the hansgrohe. Although it has a little bit of a modern streamline look, than the 2 you mentioned, I thought it was pretty sharp. It has recieved favorable reviews on GW. Then DH said he wanted 2 handles not 1 lever.

Of all the decisions to be made the faucet decision stressed me out most! Strange that a $300 -$600 item on a $100 k reno.

Ultimately went w/ a Rohl Country arc, 2 handles, separate sprayer. I should have gone w/ the Hansgrohe! The Rohl arch is too little for the big Franke Orca sink, (the faucet doesn't extend into center of sink) & the spray doesn't have enough power.

Don't sell yourself to short on the height of the faucet, it is really nice to have big things fit under the faucet but I do think the above mentioned faucets remind me of a firehose. I miss my $150 American standard arc faucet.

You should see me with my new Grohe Alira. It's only 8 inches high, but much higher that the cheap standby we had before remodeling. I'm dangerous with that sprayer. Having the arm reach out more than my older one is odd for me too. I find myself missing the little directional sprayer thingy that was on it. I think that I just have to get used to this one.

I do have to say that I wouldn't want a two handle one. Having the ease of one hand..in this case a finger (so easy to move) is priceless with full hands.

We went with the Brizo Floriano. I finished my kitchen about two years ago so it was popular. I think it may have been slightly shorter than the Vinatta but not by much.

Wow that brizo is a beauty! I agree that the height and massiveness of some of them is intimidating, but then I hear the comments about not having a problem reaching over the huge pots etc. and it does make sense.
Is there any tip about how big would be too big? I am liking all the ones shown here, and need to decide soon. I have been shying away from Grohe only because of price. I would like to spend less than $300 (considerably less than $300) and get a beautiful, problem-free easy to use- faucet.

I would say size is relative. Had we known earlier own we wanted the Vinatta, we could have made the cabinet over the sink shorter. I also shopped around for the price and I think it cost around $350. I had a spreasheet of places and I looked for the best price with shipping, in-stock, and good reputation. I am not sure but I think for some of the kitchen stuff people on the forum have used sellers with shops on ebay. You could also look at Craiglist etc. to see if you can get a good deal. Also with one bathroom fixture, my coworker found that Home Depot carried the same thing for less than Expo - she gave her kitchen person the stock number to look up. If you are working with a kitchen designer, you probably want to let them look over the specs of the faucets you are interested in and they can help you determine if it would work for your space.
