Yep, you're right, I get the names confused. How about Edward Norton? Hubba hubba!
hubba hubba? I thought R looked pretty o k, bobeee All right, OLLDS, we have to make up our minds and vote for the # 1 man that would never give us a second look, but we love, even though. My vote (now this is Hollywood and does not involve my C P) is….drum roll…poop! I forgot his name. I think he said, "Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a damn." C G

That is the way I feel today. Anyone involved in the Fiscal Cliff discussion? I am very grumpy over Marq. Googled him and he is just an angry man who seems to have a LOT of time on his hands and gets involved in everything political. Poor Emily. I hope she gets paid a bundle. ( I wanted to say Marq, with a q? Get real !)

Y'all mean Rhett Butler aka Clark Gable??

    I'll go Rock Hudson.
Roo, honey, there would be no go with Rock.
I know that Dahling, give me another reason why he wouldn't look at me - other than the fact that like your's he is dead!
olldroo, he was also gay! I think that's a pretty fair reason. Johnny Depp gets my #1 vote.
I know bob, that was my reason why he wouldn't choose me. Definitely can't think of any other - lol.
    #2 Hugh Jackman.
Oh, yeah, Hugh Jackman's a hubba! Also Matt Damon !
Careful ladies. I'm going to have to bring in the water hose and cool you off! *L*
  • 13 years ago
creeser, you're up early ! Good morning to ya !
    Of course he's a hubba - he's an Aussie!!

Creeser - did you wet the bed????
    olldroo ! That's mean :))
It is a very common comment here when people get up early, people will even jokingly say it as an excuse - seriously.
Good morning roo and bobbi! roo, I don't know which is worse, wetting the bed or having a cat determined to get you up. At least he didn't start at 3am this time.
    last modified: 13 years ago
    olldroo ok, you're forgiven!!!
creeser, a friend of mine woke up to her cat next to her pillow, swatting at a spider which had webbed it's way down near her face! So, yep, wetting the bed wins!
I shut the bedroom door because the cats tease my little dog at night. They all sleep on the bed and the two cats try to edge him off. Eventually, he huffs and goes to the living room, but not after keeping me up all night. So I started leaving the 2 troublemakers in the living room, but the oldest one doth protest. Loudly. He claws at the bottom of the door and meows. Louder and louder. My only saving grace is my hearing is going.
....and if I woke up with a spider webbing me up, I WOULD wet the bed.
To the garage ! With ALL of them ! hehehe Did you ever rescue the puppy and kitty?
Yea, a spider over my head would def cause a bladder issue!
We have no garage yet. It's in the plans. Hubby got burned out building the house.
Haven't caught them yet, but hubby finally saw them and has been putting out food. I saw the kitten by itself yesterday and it was eating in the road. I got it to move off and looked in the rear view mirror and it was heading back to the road and another car was behind me. It missed the poor thing, but I don't know if it stayed out of the road after that. Hate to go by there this morning. It'll make me cry if something has happened to one of them.
Well, I hope you do catch them, they surely need a good home. Your hubby sounds like a kind hearted soul!
Thanks. I hope we do as well. He's got a slow day today, so getting his crews out and spending the rest with me. We're going car shopping and while we're out, we're going to check on the puppy and kitten. When we get our stuff done, we're going to pick up the grandbaby and she's spending the rest of the day and evening with us while her momma and daddy go to a reunion.
Here's tip for car shopping - you'll get your best deal the last day of the month. Sales people have quotas, and they're more anxious to make a deal that day than any other day. And if it's raining that day, even better ! Have fun with your grandbaby !
Ohhh... good tip! Thank you! That should fit in with hopefully getting one next week.

Hey, want a good spider story?? We have huge huntsmen spiders that are harmless but are very active in spring. They get in the house and also love cars. Well one morning I was driving to the bus to get to work and half way there just got a really cold feeling that I had one in the car. Couldn't immediately see it so just kept going as fast as I legally could, got to the bus stop, parked the car, checked again, found nothing so locked the car up hoping it would go during the day. Got to work and about 1/2 hour later daughter rang to tell me she had had a car accident - just her 2nd day in her first job. She was driving along in slow traffic when suddenly a huntsman dropped from the ceiling straight down the front of her blouse and in panic she didn't notice the traffic stop and went straight into the back of a truck in front. Driver rushed back to check my daughter was ok and found her dancing around in the middle of the road pulling her shirt out of her skirt and shaking it. All she could say was "spider, spider". Never found where it got to, but she missed work that day and was without a car for 2 weeks. Of course she didn't expect the response she got from me when she told me what had happened - I just yelped "It was in YOUR car, no wonder I couldn't find it in mine" The next day a woman went through the front fence of a nearby home and did quite a bit of damage but she was ok - yep another spider.
Oh that is so gross !! I couldn't handle that for one New York minute! My mother got rear-ended by this poor guy in a station wagon with six kids and one bee !!!
No spider stories! Eeek. I'll stick with Cary Grant - who started the whole thing.
How big is this spider? I was just thinking about moving to Australia (all churned up over that fiscal cliff post) and now the cliff is looking like the better choice!

One name that will NEVER hit my hottie list is Marlon Brando. A legend in his own mind.
And you would never understand him with the Marlon "speak" when he told you that you were the most gorgeous woman on the planet. Remember? "I cudda been somebody…I was a condenda"
    Baby, I'm still a condenda !
and Jack Nicholson is another one that was supposed to be so sexy and I just never saw it.
Nope, Jack Nicholson not for me either. Harrison Ford BEFORE his mid-life crisis, oh yeah.
Too funny Rio, blame the spiders on Clark Gable!!! Just come on for the day and reading this in one hit is hilarious when you realise how one word can send the conversation off on a totally different tangent.

Yuk, yuk, yuk to Jack Nicholson. There is something about his smile that is sooooooo sleezy to me, I can't handle it and won't even watch his movies - which is a pain when I believe some of them are very good.

Huntsmans grow to about 6" diameter. The best thing about them is that they love cockroaches, so having a few around the house is very beneficial. Check them on Wikipeadia or here

Judy, we really have the most amazing wildlife here but they are definitely an acquired taste offset by our glorious countryside and (mostly) beautiful weather.

I'm not going near the Fiscal Cliff, have absolutely no idea what it is all about but doesn't sound like fun.

It is one of the most unpleasant threads, and I can't leave it alone. Poor Emily. olldbob, is she the only moderator? If you google some of these commenters, you will see that this is all they do,,,,fight and be nasty, no life, hide behind anonymity. What is wrong with a person who does this? Girls just want to have fun
  • 13 years ago
Roo, that sucker needs a saddle. The biggest spider I encounter here is about the size of my index fingernail. And that happens once a year, maybe.

Sydney/ Cairns, was where my daughter was, white water rafting and scuba diving. She was living in Japan, US Navy, and wanted to travel to places she thought she may never be again. Loved every minute there.
Bet they have no BFFs. Wonder at their age group, my niece is 27 and is really over all her old school chums that were BFFs for many years but suddenly it is like they haven't grown up and they don't know how to mix with people or make conversation. They live on FaceBook seemingly to make snide remarks to and about each other or any one else who comes into their radar. Maybe it is a low self esteem thing????

I got an email yesterday that quoted Einstein "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots". It then showed a bunch of photos titled 'meeting friends for lunch' 'a day at the beach' 'sightseeing', etc but everyone in the photos was on iPhones/iPods or similar. Maybe the art of interacting is getting lost.

Maybe I should go on and tell them to put it in their turkey and baste it!!!
Judy, your're not going to tell me you jump at one that size are you???? We wouldn't even see them.

Well as a Sydney girl I won't argue there, but I also love Cairns - just not in the summertime. If you ever get a chance to go there, don't stay in Cairns itself but on their northern beaches, particularly Palm Cove. Paradise!!!!!

Your spider is as big as our lobster.
You are kidding me - do you starve your lobsters. Ours would fall of a large plate.

Politics is so ugly here right now. And facebook et al only magnifies the problem because no one feels accountable for anything they say.

I read an article that people keep slamming FB over the timeline thing because they are horrified that some of the things they said years ago are public.

Thing is - they were always public. Just not easily accessible. Generation of Idiots indeed.
Trouble is Rio, no one is accountable for anything these days!!!.

Did you know too that if you Google Rio Brewster, everything you have put on this site will come up? It is also accessible through the San Fran Chronicle. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!!!!!!
That's why I'm RioBrewster. You didn't think that was my real name did you?
Well we ain't lived this long not to know things:)
The main reason I am not on FB is I don't want anyone looking at my face. Some old boyfriend chuckling and guffawing at the sight! That's why I will be cremated…I want no one looking down and gazing in horror at what happened because I lived long enough to know things. :>)
In your case, judyg, totally understandable. My sympathies to your survivors.
judyg....screw old boyfriends! ;) they are always the ones that have the regrets! trust me! i'm headed over to today's lady talk!
GIRLS, bobee is pickin' on me.
