I have used Feline Instincts for quite a while for our 4 cats. I used the Premix Plus Chicken Liver.
All 4 loved it. For the meat I used ground turkey, just bought whatever was on sale. I basically followed the instruction and used an ice cream scoop to freeze single portions either on a cookie sheet and from there into a freezer bag or froze it in containers with parchment or wax paper between layers. Then thawed in the fridge as needed.
As for the transition - I added some to their regular food for a few days and then just switched over.
The only reason I went back to canned food is that one of mine needed to loose weight and it was not happening. I kept feeding her less and less and the fat was not budging. Since eating grain free canned food she has lost about 2 pounds over the last year or so and the other ones are maintaining their wait.
They all basically stopped drinking water when on the raw food but it didn't cause any problems. Enough moisture in the food.

Wow! 5 cats and 2 dogs! My husband is crumbling about the 4 cats we have. He doesn't mind the dog because he is the one who found him.
