You might call a vet, but still, I would put something that's intended to kill something only in inaccessable places, like inside cabinets with childproof closures, etc.

I used a 50-50 mix of powdered sugar and 20 mule team Borax. The Borax is found in most grocery stores in the laundry detergent aisle it contains an organic mineral silica the ants come for the sugar and get covered they carry it back to the nest they rub themselves chronically the silica damages their hard exterior they die the entire nest dies
