Furminator

I just bought the "Furminator" for my Rat Terrier. I used it on him and couldn't believe that amount of hair that came out of that little guy. I also used it on my cat and likewise got an unreal amount of hair out of him and he is a DSH. I'm really pleased with this tool. I'd recommend it to anyone who has a dog....with fur...lol. Just be easy with it. You don't "brush" like a regular brush. You have to be very gentle and not put any pressure on the "brush".

I have one, but I think it was overpriced for what it does. I can get the same amount of fur out of my dog using a standard curry comb, which is much cheaper.

Wow, I never would have thought of using a curry comb. Aren't they used on horses? Well, leave it to me to buy the most expensive thing on the market. Sometimes I'm so gullable.

I love the Furminator. I bought the medium size (yellow) for my cats and it's amazing.

I bought the FURminator when it first came out a few years ago to use on my Shiba Inu's. It's a fantastic tool at getting out that loose fur and shedding undercoat.

Just got it last week for our ridgeback that has been shedding excessively from stress and it works great. I agree it's over priced, but worth not as much hair floating around.

where do you buy them? or the curry comb?

The furminator is the best grooming tool I've every purchased. It was badly overpriced - almost as much as all the other grooming tools I've purchased put together. But I never use anything else now and I've gotten over the pain of the price.

I was a curry comb loyal for many years. Our family dogs loved them -it was just like a message. But, I have switched to the furminator as it works for my dog and cat. :)

You do have to be very gentle, but it does a great job.

The price is SHOCKING for what it is. A medium one runs around $45-55 in the stores here. I bought mine on ebay for $23 ($28 with shipping).

Bang for buck, curry combs are cheap and last forever. :)

The Entirely Pets website runs then on sale from time to time for a pretty good price.

A company called Bamboo makes a copy of the Furminator that works just as well for about $10-15 less. They have an entire line of pet grooming supplies and tools. I got mine at Target, but I have seen them at pet stores, also. If you want the original Furminator QVC has good prices on them.

My cat loves to be brushed with it and it takes out an amazing amount of hair.

I bought a Furminator 2 weeks ago, truly amazing the amount of hair that can come out of 2 little cats! Best money I have ever spent. They love it, coats look and feel much better. Enough extra cat hair to make 2 more cats!!
