are you using both of your chosen whites in the same room, on different rooms. Are they viewed from the same space? Why not do ceilings the same color as the walls if room is small? I like layered whites in the same room, but I have to be able to see the space, see the lighting, see how they play with each other and in what amounts they work best. I think I am saying, you are there ... you are seeing your area..you seem to have a good eye for color....I think you should be the last word in this, but you definitely have the right idea of whites and whites.

In my tirade, I totally overlooked the most important thing, that you were looking for trim color...well, in my own house, I chose white that was 2 degrees from the wall colors but definitely shows up to be different as the textures are different: Paints for wood are glossier and paints for walls are more "transient" in their appearance and more "translucent" (not sure that is the word I am looking for but seem (maybe) more ethereal, while wood paints tend to stabilize, even of the same hue and shade.

I will only be using one of the colors (I'm really leaning towards the Swiss Coffee) in the living room/kicthen areas which is one large space and has a bank of large windows (about 5 feet high and 20 feet wide) facing east. I'm thinking Swiss Coffee on the walls. Decorator's White on the mouldings and mixing 1/2 Swiss White and 1/2 Decorator's White for the ceiling. Do you think that would look layered and wonderful?

Regarding sheen: would you agree walls = eggshell; kitchen walls = pearl, all trim/mouldings = semi-gloss; all ceilings = matte.
