Microwave cupboard

Any ideas how we can make this work? My hubby did an excellent job taking an old oven out and putting the new oven, we now have a space for microwave but we are stuck on how we can make this work, there's a chipped wood on the side and don't know where to start!? Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks heaps!

    You can fix it with pieces of molding, just like the pro's do when there is space where there shouldn't be. The molding can be decorative, it doesn't have to be plain jane. And you can put it only on the around the microwave. It doesn't need to go around both appliances.

    You don't really need a pull-out shelf for a microwave, so I would put something below the microwave to lift it in order to make the space on top and bottom equal, then just frame it with molding.
