Paint colors?

Trying to decide on paint colors for the kitchen. There won't be a lot of wall that will be painted...

Here's what I've chosen -

The mosaic tile in the upper right hand corner is what will be around the fireplace in the eat-in portion of the kitchen where most of the paint will be. The fireplace mantel and the windows there will be in natural cherry.

The backsplash picture is the tile we will be using, but our cabinets are not pure white as in the picture.

Here's the floorplan so you can see where the paint will be...

Any ideas? The woman at the paint store suggested taupe. I was also considering a bluish gray, but I'm just not sure.

Thanks!

I wanted a blue/gray colour for my kitchen too, but most seemed cool, which didn't work with the rest of my colours, which were predominantly warm (cream cabinets, cream trim, etc.) A lot of your colours look warm, too, so I posted a picture of my walls - it's BM Revere Pewter. I think it looks blue/gray on the walls, but it's actually really warm and I like it. Good luck with your choice!

Thanks Bobby99. That's a nice color - I'll add it to my possibles.

I was looking at Thundercloud Gray (2124-40) too. Too blue, maybe?

Here is a link that might be useful: Thundercloud Gray

Love your choices and especially the granite slab -- is it misty black?

I was looking at BM silent night...it's in the grey family of colors.

    Good luck!

Gray is hard, you really can't tell if it will read blue/green/beige/purple until you get it on the wall in your own lighting with your own elements around. When we painted our kitchen gray, I think I must have had 15 different swatches painted. The ones that I thought would be front runners based on the color wheels were too.....something. I picked the one that "fit" best and really love it. It is bright enough in our sunny eat in area but not too dark in our less sunny kitchen area. If you have the option to do that, I would recommend it. With that being said, I really love the BM Revere Pewter. I know that it is a popular gray around here. The one that we used is SW Silverpointe, if you are looking for another alternative.

Thanks, clarygrace. The slab is actually Anasazi Soapstone. I really like that Silent Night color too - thanks!

kellienoelle - That's true. I'm a little worried about choosing something because we are taking out a wall and changing all the lighting, so there's a chance it will look so much different.

So - everyone's suggestions so far are in the gray/blue tones I was looking at. Any comment on taupe colors?
