Mixing Chairs

I need to buy 4 new chairs for my dining table. We have a living/dining room combo, so to save space I keep my round table small (seating for 4). I'm also buying 2 chairs for a small kitchen breakfast nook. I figured when we have bigger gatherings of people (mainly Thanksgiving/Christmas) and I put the leaf in the table I could just pull in the breakfast nook chairs to use at the dining table.

So...there would be a mix od 2 styles of chairs. I like that as I'm trying to get away from the matchy matchy look. Just wondering if they would look good together and if it matters that the upholstered chairs are 38" high where the woven chairs are 41" high.

Here are the chairs in mind for the dining room: (the tan color)

I think they would look great together. I just bought 3 dining chairs, and have a different arm chair at the same table.

I love the mixture of textures I think it will look great!Besides I have a dining room set and I have a big family most of whom get stuck on a card chair! LOL!

So you don't think it matters that the woven chair is taller than the upholstered chairs?

I agree that they would look beautiful together. I have four dining room chairs at the table, and when we have company, I use four other chairs from an earlier set. The chairs don't match, themselves, but they do all have green color upholstery which ties everything together.
I say, "GO FOR IT". The tan and the woven colors look great together.

I agree with everyone else "Go For It." Especially since they are in different places everyday and pulled together on special occasions.

I also think they will look great together. They are basically the same style and the colors and textures compliment each other. I agree with the others: "Go For It"

I'm new here (long time lurker who's "come out of the closet" sort of...), and I just love what you're planning to do. Why do things have to totally match? It's great that they look good together. I shudder to think of all of the "all of the same" dishes,glasses, and sets of things I used to have. A couple of years ago, a friend invited us for dinner, and her table had all different water and wine glasses and it looked wonderful. Now it seems that brides register for plates rather than place settings, and I love that.
