If its a durafirm, I know that they refurb them in house. It wasnt too expensive the last time I did one.

You can have any color you want, as long as that color is cyan.

I was planning on doing it in our shop rather than ship it across the country. Its an 18 year old SRSmith with about 20% of the top worn down to bare aluminum. If I have to remove the old finish it may not be worth it unless there is an easy way to strip it. Its for a country club and gets a lot of use.

Easy way to strip:

4-/12" Grinder
4-1/2" Sanding Disk attachment
A stack of 36 or 50 grit disks
Painters masks and goggles
Nitrile gloves.

All available at Home Depot

I just did a fiberglass pool down to the glass due to severe blistering with the above.

Use 50 grit where the paint/topping is thin and 36 on the thicker stuff.

That doesn't sound easy!

The painting is done. Here are some pix.

When I 1st saw it, I was not sure if I wanted to do this.

Emptied for 2 days

After a couple days and having discovered 4 layers of epoxy paint plus the remains of the original gel coat.

The end of the grind 4 days later:

All painted.

Next up for me there is to redo the spa. It had 4 jets and two pumps on one skimmer and one drain. Going to 10 jets and 1 skimmer and 3 drains and an EasyTouch with and IC20 to control it and the pool.

Did you repaint aluminum board and how did it go. I have a 8' board I am doing now and looking for tips for painting etc.
