Final Cabinet choice

Well, here it is.

I posted a month or so ago about our debate over our selection of doo/drawer style. We kept coming back to the beadboard and how much we loved it in our last kitchen. Once that was done it was down to stain selection (we knew we didn't want any glazing).

So, three sample doors later we decided on cherry with a caramel stain. Our design is mostly drawer bases.

It's gorgeous, Dave. Is this a newly stained door, or one that's been around awhile? (Just wondering how it might change over time, or if it's already there) Congratulations on making that big decision. It's a winner.

Thanks, rhome410, btw, glad to hear you are all moved in even if not completely finished.

Its a new sample, so, since it is cherry, will definitely darken over time.

We did see a different stlye with the same finish that was older (around a year I believe) and it was darker and richer looking (which we liked).

We're planning on counters in the tan range of colors, so we think the combination will be neutral allowing us to use colors in accessories, dishes, etc.

Very nice...as to glazing, it doesn't need it. The various indentations/runnels/whatever they're called seem to have picked up the stain differently giving it a varied look; i.e., not a uniform color. It's one of the things that makes it look so nice!

Doesn't it feel good to have one of your major decisions made?

BTW...the picture doesn't need to be rotated. It shows the door/drawer combination upright.

Ha, ha, yeah it does. In preview mode and when I first looked at the post it wasn't.

It does feel good to have the decision down!!!

Looking forward to your progress too, buehl, once the issues are worked out.

Excellent choice. Seems like most of the beadboard cabinets people choose lately are white....I think they're all missing out on the beauty of that stained beadboard!

I like the character you have with the beadboard design. I think the doors are gorgeous, and the color will allow you many options on the rest of your stuff. I like!

Cant wait to see the progression pictures, thats my favorite part of this forum! Nice choice on your cabinets, I love the way cherry ages, its very warm and rich.
