composites can mold, PVC/Vinyl can squeak, there will always be trade-offs. Check out this link for some more information.

I had my deck built with a product called Quadra which is a PVC/Vinyl product. It has pros and cons. I posted a link a while back to some pictures you should be able to find it by searching.

I have installed this product and love it. It has been just over 1 year since install and my customer absolutly loves it. No squeaking. The vinyl does not touch. Rated very well with consumerreports.org if you have an acoount.

I do subscribe to CR and saw the Azek decking got good reviews. We just got prices for our small deck and Azek was about $1000. more than both Evergrain (2700.) and CorrectDeck(2900.). I'm not sure if the Correctdeck was for the CX or the DCL, the guy who did the figuring didn't ask which the prices were for.

Based on prices, the PVC is out.

My contractor showed me some correctdeck CX and it looked pretty solid. It was more expensive than the stuff I chose, but had I budgeted more for my deck, I might have chosen it.
